Old World v. New World: A Case for Terroir - Chardonnay $250 SOLD OUT

  • belcham 1177 6th ave New York, NY, 10036 United States (map)

Join Fork and Saber as we team up with wine expert and founder of executive wine seminars Bob Millman. Bob has amassed a wealth of knowledge after decades spent in the wine industry. We are excited to join him in a passionate discussion and really dig deep into how terroir affects this grape.

Despite incursions of popularity from Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay remains the world’s most popular white wine grape. While Chardonnay is grown all over the world, it reaches its highest quality levels in the Burgundy region of France and in Northern and Southern California. During this exciting tasting, we will taste 8 outstanding Chardonnay—four from Burgundy and four from California. From Burgundy, we taste the iconic Grand Cru Jadot Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles. This remarkable wine retails for $500, twice the cost of the tasting as well as wines from Chablis, Cote Chalonaise, and Macon—the 150 stretch in Burgundy from north to south where Chardonnay is the king of the white wine grapes. From California, we will taste wines from Sonoma Coast and the Russian River in northern California, Santa Cruz in central California and Santa Barbara in southern California.
